Official Appraisals $200 per item

Official Appraisals include complete documentation & valuations according to NAJA & USPAP standards, & are accepted by all insurance companies. We provide appraisals for insurance scheduling, to settle an estate, in preparation for a private sale, donation, divorce, & gifts. Each item appraised will receive an accompanying dossier that includes all information needed to obtain insurance. Appraisals under this umbrella include Retail Replacement Value (New) & Fair Market Value. The appraiser can discuss with you which option is best for your needs. Your jewelry should ideally be in its best condition prior to an appraisal, but it isn't always necessary. Any issues such as loose gemstones, broken prongs, or more serious problems should be addressed before your item is appraised, whenever possible. We can discuss those matters with you during the intake & examination process. Most appraisals will require you to leave the item(s) at K.Jons & it will be appraised in the order in which it is received. Your items are fully insured while in K.Jons' possession & are kept securely in a bank-style vault. Most appraisals are ready two weeks. Some items, such as antiques, may require more research time. If you require an appraisal done while you wait, please call for an appointment. Please note that appraisals while you wait can take one to two hours (or more) depending on the item's complexity, & there is a rush fee for while you wait services.  Otherwise, no appointment is necessary.
