1969: Studied Geography & Geology, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. 1968-70: Employed by De Beers in diamond research under Chief Geologist Dr Barry Hawthorne both in Kimberley & Johannesburg. Duties included microscope analysis of diamond slices detecting unusual inclusions in diamonds & trained as rough diamond sorter. 1984-2016: Various courses at GIA - Diamond Grading, Colored Stones, Gem ID, Pearls, Cut Grading System, County of Origin. 1993: Graduate Gemologist Diploma, GIA. 2019: Appraisal short course under Cos Altobelli, Emeritus Certified Gemologist Appraiser. 2022: Enrolled in International School of Gemology, Texas. Associations: 2006-presesnt: Member at large of the Women's Jewelry Association, Los Angeles. 2008-present: Member of the Searchers Gem & Mineral Society, Anaheim. 2021-present: EX Board Member Santa Lucia Rockhounds. 2021-present: Volunteer & member Estrella Warbirds Museum. 2021-present: Member Atascadero Chamber & BBB of Santa Barbara County.
